  Here are some free helpful tips

  • Drink more water! Your body will hold less excess water weight.
  • Take time to prepare your meals. For example, fast food is not a good choice. Know what your going to eat tomorrow, today and be prepared for tough eating situations.
  • In restaurants eat half and take the rest home for later.
  • 80% or more of your carbohydrates should be from oatmeal, vegetables, and fruits.
  • Eat enough protein. This tip would be in relation to your body weight and how active you are. Athletes should consume about 1 gm for every pound of body weight. If you're working out 2 to 3 days a week, then you would need within the range of .5 to .7 grams of protein per pound of body weight.
  • Make sure you take in at least 25 grams of fiber a day!
  • Eat 5 to 6 times a day or every 3 to 4 hours. Don't skip meals. By doing this you raise your metabolism (your body's ability to burn fat naturally) I have found that most people that come to me trying to lose weight or fat have the habit of eating once or twice a day. By doing this their metabolism has slowed down and they are gaining fat because of it.
  • Keep a food journal. If you are working with a Synergy Fitness, we will review it weekly and create your plan of action. If you don't have a trainer, still keep a food journal. Having a journal will keep you aware and accountable
